Have you received a random letter from the BMV?
20% of the registered vehicles in the state of Ohio receive this letter each year. It is part of Ohio’s program to address Uninsured Motorists. This is a very simple program. When you receive a letter from them, you can send a copy of your ID Card or Policy Declarations, which must include the date referenced on their letter, to:
Ohio BMV Insurance Processing Center
P.O. BOX 209
Hudson, OH 44236-0209
(Be sure to write the License Plate Number on the ID Card or Policy Declarations.)
IF YOU ARE NOT MY CLIENT, YOU WILL WANT TO CONTACT YOUR OWN INSURANCE AGENT OR REPRESENTATIVE TO PROVIDE PROOF OF COVERAGE TO THE OHIO BMV.
If you are my client, and you can’t find either your ID Card or Policy Declarations, CLICK HERE for instructions on how to retrieve your documents online, or send me a copy of the BMV letter and our staff will take care of sending the proper documentation to the BMV (assuming your policy was in-force on the date specified by the BMV.)
If you are my client, and need us to send the documents for you, simply take a picture of the BMV letter with your phone and email it to me at cameron_shandersky@schiffinsurance.com.
